Movie News...

Something that hasn't been discussed much (if at all) on this silly little blog we have is movies. I read some news on THE movie for next year, The DaVinci Code.

Scott Weinberg writes: "Variety brings news of two new additions to Ron Howard's upcoming "The Da Vinci Code." Already on board were Tom Hanks, Jean Reno, and Audrey Tautou, but those crafty casting directors were just getting started. Seems that both Sir Ian McKellen ("X-Men") and Alfred Molina ("Spider-Man 2") have recently signed on for a pair of supporting roles.

Jean Reno (from Ronin) is the absolute perfect pick for the "Captain Fache" role. I have my reservations about Tom Hanks as "Robert Langdon," but then again, Tom Hanks is Tom Hanks. I'm sure he'll pull it off. I don't know what rolls McKellen and Molina got, but I'm guessing that Molina is maybe "Silas," the albino monk? I personally don't think that works, since the way it is written, Silas sounds like a professional wrestler.

Anyways, I am really excited about this movie, and hope it does well enough (and it will) to get someone to green-light Angels & Demons.

Comments:
Good call.

Holy crap, THE GOODS!!! His Heavy Soul debut, ladies and gentlemen. Picking up napa and The Goods is a pretty solid recruiting sweep for one week.

Sir Ian would also be good in the corrupt priest role, as well.

The guy who played SaberTooth in the original X-Men will play Silas. Or Toby Jeffers.

Wow, the Toby call is point-on. That's hilarious.
