rock the juke box
I was at the bar on Friday and I decided to stroll over to the juke box -- three songs for $1. My trifecta consisted of:
#1 James - Laid
#2 Dinosaur Jr. - Feel the Pain
#3 David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
I thought this was a good set, and judging by a nearby table playing the table drums I wasn't the only one who thought so.
This got me wondering; what are your greatest jukebox moments? What series of songs have you requested that you felt was the perfect fit for that particular bar at that particular moment?

Currently, I enjoy playing The Outfield, "I just want to use your love tonite," fantastic song out of the jukebox randomly.
I like to stick pretty close to the 3 S's, Springsteen, Stones, and Seger. Pretenders are great as well.
In addition, Rick and I own the jukebox at the Holiday. Seriously, it's ours, no one has been able to squeeze as much ass kicking-ness as us out of it.
Which reminds me, does it feel like cheating now that you can download songs and play whatever you want on some jukeboxes? Maybe I'm old school, but I really think that with jukeboxes you just have to play the tunes you're equipped with. Maybe this is a different post altogether.

Any list that includes Pure Prairie League's "Aimee" will surely bring down the house. Lord knows Pete and I have played that song, oh, 10,000 times.

It would be a long list if everyone on this blog, most of whom are admitted jukebox rats, listed every quality song they play.

Johnny Cash never gets booed. I like Violent Femmes, American Music. Pearl Jam's State of Love and Trust.
