About Last Night's Coldplay Show In Omaha...
First of all, I was totally impressed with Coldplay and the show they put on. Everything about it was fantastic. Also, thanks to some of the guys at The Square Deal for having some of us over for beers before the show. We'll pretend that you guys did not have "Bluejay Punch" at your place...for now.
But here's the thing: when did it become "cool" to raise your cell phone in the air during slow songs??? What happened to LIGHTERS?
I think this may be the most not-rock and roll thing to ever happen to concerts. Ever.

I know this may sound kind of dumb, but I don't know that it is possible for Coldplay to put on a better show. They were perfect, people singing their songs (excuse me, screaming their songs)...
I seriously would be suprised if something from that show is not on some kind of live album/DVD. It was remarkable.

This is going to sound a bit silly, but that show was absolutely amazing. I was not going into it with high expectations at all. And they whupped my ass. Needless to say, their ode to Johnny Cash left me speechless and was seriously a spiritual moment for me. The crowd interaction was phenomenal, highlighted by Chris Martin nearly climbing into Toffer, Big Boi, and I's section. Also, very cool that they dedicated "Don't Panic" to Conor Oberst. And they were some gracious britons. Can't remember how many times they thanked the crowd or applauded us. Fantastic.

I give it three thumbs up. Definately would see them again, and I am willing to bet Omaha will be a regular stop on future tours.

I can definatly see that, cheri. Now, I was a fan going in, but not a crazy fan or anything. They impressed me enough to vault them into pretty high territory on my favorite band list, though.

I am now firmly convinced that if Coldplay can stay together for three or four more albums, we will talk about them the way our parents talk about the Stones. That was a top three show for me, the other two being the Milwaukee U2 show (where npgage and I were in the heart and surrounded by Bono at all times) and Nirvana.
Well, thanks to Pope informing me, apparently British tabloids are saying that Coldplay is either done for a while or done for good after this tour.
i'm glad coldplay is breaking up, so i don't have to listen to continued talk that they are the greatest rock band in the world...their words, not mine.
I'm with NP Gage on this one. I don't know enough about them, but I doubt their guitar player will ever do enough drugs to be considered 'Keith Richards' status.
