Not to get political....

..but this is hilarious. Barbara Streisand--one of our foremost authorities on political happenings here in America--wrote a scathing essay on George W. Bush, presumably on her website (I cannot look at it because here at work, all "entertainment" sites are blocked). She mocks him for being a "C student" and generally being dumb.

The beauty of this is that her essay contains 11 spelling errors, including four in one sentence:

"In the 1970’s, during the Nixon Adminstration, serious political curruption arose and the Republican leadership stepped up and took responsibilty by holding hearings and subpoening administration officials"

She also spells Iraq "Irag," corruption "curruption," and so on.

Again, I don't care about the content or who it is about. I just find it hilarious that you write an essay calling someone dumb, then proceed to look like you have an sixth-grade level education.

I love Hollywood!

Comments:
So, you haven't commented on Chappelle because you haven't had a chance to post anything yet? Could it possibly be because you're too busy trying to catch up on Streisand's blog? Issues...

You guys are annoying.

By the way, heard that poker game really treated you well on Saturday, The Rod.

Ouch.

That is funny. A while back The Journal Star did a special section on grammar, and how bad it is getting. They said it isn't being taught enough, informal e-mails are making it worse, etc.. Anyway, a part of the secion was a big front page devoted to facts, figures and places where grammar is commonly used incorrectly. The page contained at least four grammar mistakes.

One of my favorites was that they actually pointed to James Brown's "I Feel Good" and said that proper grammar should be "I Feel Well" I am pretty sure that unless JB was singing about was acute sense of touch, his grammar was fine. I love people who change every good to well and every me to I and think that they have good grammar.

All in all, people who live in glass houses shouldn't cast stones.

One would think most people would realise that grammar in a song or poem takes a back seat to the sound of the word combinations. Something that's grammatically correct may not sound right when its sung.
