Sad Day.....

A big Heavy Soul tear is being shed today for my (and I think most of the blog contributors) favorite player turned analyst, fixture at the college world series, and key figure in cell phone number theft gate.

Good bye Harold Reynolds.

Because I have nothing else better to do right now, I've been watching the Joe Morgan chat trying to find out why HR got fired. Then, it happened. This little gem of a question came up:

Ken Tremendous, CA: Joe, thanks for taking my question. I've been telling my friends that the Yankees will be fine because of Jeter's leadership and intangibles -- do you think that intangibles can be as important as "stats" like HR, walks, etc.?

Yes, that is THE Ken Tremendous. This has absolutely made my day. Still no answer to the HR story, though.

I heard the story this morning and about puked. Oh how quickly BBTN has went from the #1 sports show on TV to not much at all. FIrst no Grandpa Pete, now no HR...Kruk can only take the show so far by himself....and Steve Philips is NOT Harold Reynolds.

GA can you give him a call and get the scoop, I'm very curious as the story and reasoning behind this....other than ESPN is a bunch of egomaniacs.

First of all Rod, great catch. That is hilarious.

And Deadspin was all over that this afternoon. My question is how exactly does HR hit on an intern and get canned, yet Michael Irvin does crack and gets his job back? If you smoke crack at McDonald's, they're not letting you get near the Happy Meals!

(Sorry, Chris Rock standup started spewing out of me there...)

Lastly, I would happily call HR myself, if I hadn't lost his and all the other cell phone numbers. It is pretty damned depressing.
