Wow, Huskers...
The endless bliss of the Husker preseason is certainly taking a shit turn, isn't it? Here is EXACTLY the type of headline I did not want to see before the season started (from ESPN):
"Huskers corner out for year; backup QB still a no-show"
So Zach Bowman--a Mel Kieper late first rounder to second rounder--tore his ACL. Not good times. Not good times at all. Add that to Harrison Beck--who, according to my sources, is a prima donna bitch (and I know that sounds super lame I just said "my sources," but it is true)--not showing up to practice the past two+ days. As far as he goes this season, not that big a deal, but the future of our program, this is bad. And it is all because he was fourth on the depth chart. Who cares??? It is because you did not play in the spring, you egotistical fuck! Jesus! You, God, and everyone that follows Nebraska football knows you're number two, and number one the second Zack Taylor leaves this season. Get it together!

Really, really, really bad news about Bowman. I look forward to reading the post from EZT in which he states that every new corner we've brought in is going to be the second coming of Christ.

Man Pete wish i could....the lost of ZB is so much bigger than Beck being a no show that it's not even funny. Let's be honest, if Taylor goes down (dear lord be with us) this year it's going to be a complete catastrophe with or w/out Beck. Bowman was the guy we needed to help be competitive with USC and UT this year. I actually had a convo about a month ago where i stated that Bowman was the most important player to our defenses success this year...this is devastating....but because you asked, here comes the big red kool-aid!
Andre Jones is legit...he's as good as Bowman but will have a learning curve just like ZB did, expect big things from here at the end of the season.
Ricky Thenarse and Anthony West will no doubt each get all the chances in the world to contribut this year....West is raw but extremely athletic. Thenarse is a big hitter who can cover a crap ton of ground, his hs films are as good as you will see from a db but in my opinion is a future strong safety and won't be a corner.
Bottom line is that losing Bowman forces Grixby into a lot tougher matchups...as much as I love Grix he will always struggle against 6'4 big bodied WR that we had planned to match ZB too....boys this loss is tough to sugar coat...just hope for Jones to learn quickly.
