It's Official...

...the 2006 Chicago Bears are a team of destiny. Down 20 points in the second half? No problem. Coming back without a offensive touchdown? Blah. Easy.

Tonight's Monday Night Football game was the weirdest football game I have ever seen. Hands down.

That said, the endless Matt Leinert highlights/press conference/USC comeback vs. Notre Dame highlights were more than my stomach could handle. Seriously. I just threw up in my mouth. ESPN just cannot come to grips that Reggie Bush and Matt Leinert do not play for USC anymore, so by God, we're going to show as many highlights in their USC uniforms that possibly can!

Oh well, who gives a shit? I don't. The Bears are 6-0!

Throw that in with Sweet Lou Pinella getting a three-year deal (with a fourth-year option) for the Cubs--not to mention the announcement that payroll will increase 10-15% (which puts it around $110-115 million), plus reports that Sweet Lou is going to push as hard as he can for A-Rod, and it's a pretty good day to be a Chicago sports fan.

You get the feeling that Ditka (God) is smiling down on the Second City today.

Comments:
I can't lie. The Bears got away with murder tonight. That said, I wish they would have lost and just debunked all of this talk about perfection and what not. There still a good team and bound for the playoffs!!!

I couldn't believe how hard Tony K. was being on Arizona last night during the broadcast. I mean, I understand they had the game in the bag and that they have a long history of being bad, but lord, he was being ruthless. Saying things like every sports writer across the country is probably having a hard time not putting "Arizona, and joke" in their lead sentence -- and that was before they had even lost the game.

Oh, and one more thing. Speaking of good news for Chicago sports. You forgot to mention that White Sox short-stop Juan Uribe has warrant out for his arrest in connection with the shooting of two men in the Dominican Republic. That's good news right...oh wait, maybe not.

Lou Piniella and Arod are considered good news?

You have lost it, GA.

More on this later...

You beat me to the punch Pete.

By the way, Leinert in his second career start threw for 232 yards and 2 TD's with 0 interceptions against the best defense in the league. Once again he did all this without a running game (Edge averaged 1.5 ypc) and without their best receiver. The guy is good.

The bears lost in the playoffs because of their secondary and it looks like they still have some issues. I think the two toughest games for them will be when the travel to New York to play the football Giants and when they go to St. Louis.

Unbelievable win last night though. Despite Grossman's best efforts to lose, the Bears pulled it off.

Question: If you root for Gay-rod does that infact make you a Gay?

Pinella = Awesome

ARod = stupid. Assuming the Yankees will demand Zambrano, wouldn't you rather just go out and get Soriano as a free agent for the same money?

Yes, if Z would have to be involved, I would rather overspend on Soriano or Carlos Lee or both.

Sweet Lou is a time bomb waiting to explode in Chi-town with the talent (or lack ther of) on that club currently. I'm going to enjoy watching this hire explode in Mchendry's face.
