New Team Announcement+Predictions

Very quick. As I have a meeting in seven minutes:

NL East: Phillies
NL Central: Brewers (hardest division to pick, Brewers have the best pitching)
NL West: Dodgers
Wild Card: NY Mets or Braves (I'll take the Braves, but I do think it will come out of the east either way)

AL East: Red Sox
AL Central: Tigers
AL West: A's
Wild Card: Twins

World Series: Red Sox over Phillies in 5

And Pete's new team is: The Twins. Nice work EZT.

Comments:
Pete, do i win any sort of prize for picking your new team correctly? I must say i love your selection, if i was to pick a second team i would be on the same bandwagon.

My predictions:
NL East: i'll go homer and say the Braves, with the phillies getting the wild card
Central: Astros
West: Dodgers

AL East: Yankees
Central: Tigers
West: Angels
Wild Card: Blue Jays

I'll than go with the Yankees over the Dodgers in the WS

Wow. Well, have fun watching games with Paul.

As far as predictions go...EZT, you really think the Red Sox aren't going to the playoffs? They have the best pitching in that division, and the second-best lineup. Come on.

And for the Astros...that's just crazy talk. It's going to be the Cards, Cubs, or Brewers. Haven't made up my mind yet.

Crazy? Whats crazy is that you are still allowed to make predictions after saying you thought last years Cubs team was a 85-95 win team.

I just don't think the Red Sox will have it this year, their offense isn't going to score the runs they have the last couple of years and their bullpen is a mess. Plus i don't think they have the best rotation in that division unless Dice-K has an unreal year and Schilling has a better year than last year...i like the Blue jays rotation better.

As for the NL Central, i think it's the toughest division to pick. My heart said take the brew crew, my logic said the cubs and my instinct said the Astros.

The Twins? Wow. I wonder what line of reasoning lead you to pick a team with the reigning AL MVP (and the guy who should have been MVP - both of whom are under 25), the best pitcher in baseball, a collection of great young pitching prospects, a good closer, and a productive lineup. Seriously, did you have to spend 10 or 15 minutes thinking about it before picking the most obvious 2008 bandwagon team. It's a good thing you didn't do this five years ago or you'd be rooting for the A's right now. Or three years ago since you'd be rooting for...oh, right, The Cubs.

This is great though. In case you need a primer on other teams you want to start rooting for, I'll just break it down for you:

NHL - The Penguins
NFL - The Cardinals
NBA - The Bulls

You should definitely start rooting for those teams now, Jeff, because if you start next year you are just going to be like those fake Cubs fans you hate. If you do it now, it's completely different and no one will have any right to question your motivations.

Have fun watching games in the Metrodome. Great stadium. Lot of history there. Maybe you can even hold up one of those 'Circle Me, Bert' signs, you tool.

If you'll excuse me, I'm about to go watch Gil Meche throw 7 innings of one run ball while Gordon goes 3-4 with a walk, a homerun, 3 RBIs, and one shot that explodes the stadium lights. Yes, I realize how ridiculous that Meche prediction is going to look tonight. I don't care.
