Rick Hoesing in Omaha November 20, 2003-August 31, 2007
Omaha, NE. The city of Omaha lost a visibile component of its independent music and social scene Friday with the passing of Rick Hoesing. Hoesing, or The Rick as he was known to close friends, had lived in Omaha for nearly four years. In that time, Hoesing established himself as a functioning alcoholic and a gregarious tipper. Stories abound from local barkeepers about Hoesing's seemingly trademarked $20 tip for a 1:10am beer. Hoesing was also known as an avid fan of Omaha's indie music scene. A regular at establishments like Sokol Underground, The Waiting Room, and most recently Slowdown, The Rick used his shameless star-struckedness to befriend any musician he could. Hoesing was preceded in passing by his former roommate and reputed hetero-lifemate, Todd. Hoesing leaves behind two children of unknown origin and many friends.

He's going to Des Moines. I seriously don't know what I am going to do about my weeknight drinking. I guess grow up.
Great stuff, MIB. Maybe I should write my own, re: my driking.
