Mike Tirico
I'm not a huge fan of the move to Mike Tirico to take DP's spot in the afternoons on ESPN radio. He's great calling football, but I would rather have seen Gottlieb or Van Pelt. They at least make stories to talk about, Tirico will only continue to talk about the stuff that the sports' leader always talks about.

What I find ridiculous is that they basically replaced Dan Patrick with a guy who is basically Dan Patrick.
On one hand I find it respectful that ESPN did not try and put on another polarizing figure such as Cowherd. On the other hand, of course, they could have gone with someone a little more entertaining.
I too enjoy Tirico as a play by play guy but I have a feeling we're going to be doing the Dan Patrick routine of beating the topic of the day into the ground in a very boring and straightforward manner again.
Gottlieb is both entertaining and non-controversial, as is Van Pelt. Agreed that they both would have been better choices.

Mike Terico is the radio equivilent to Lawrence Welk.
Christ, he does a boring radio show. Apparently Scott Van Pelt was too good at it.

Well at least Van Pelt is going to be a Co- Host with him so that is a nice bonus and might spice things up. However I am going to miss the big show because I have a man crush on Olberman. Still I have listenend the at last day or two and I'm cool with it.
