Comments:
Granted, I don't know what your expectations were of The Shins' album, but I thought it lived up to mine. I feel like it was more rich musically. I especially like what they did with the beats on Sea Legs and Split needles.

I would totally agree with your Neon Bible statement. I have been listening to that one a lot in the last week and am really digging it.

One album that you missed - which happens to be my favorite album of the year - is Andrew Bird's Armchair Apocrypha. It is awesome, if you haven't given it time, you need to. I also saw him a couple of times in concert this year and it was great.

An album that came out recently, that in the context of a whole album isn't that strong, but there are some great tracks on is Iron and Wine's The Shepard's Dog. If you are not a fan of Iron and Wine's melancoly sound, this album turns it up a little. There are some real gems on the album.

I did not like Iron and Wine whatsoever...which makes "The Shepard's Dog" that much more remarkable.

A fantastic album.

Another addition would be Jay-Z's "American Gangster." And there are probably others, but I cannot think of them at this particular moment.

But great call on Iron and Wine, napa. That really is a fantastic album.

Robert Plant and Allison Krause??? Really?

Believe me, there are plenty of albums that I have yet to pick up. These were just the ones that I've purchased. I need that Iron & Wine album and Andrew Bird's.

After reading this post i have only one question MIB-

How many of those CD's were put on Todd's Best Buy card before the domestic partner divorce?

so happy to see The Good Life in your list!
I totally agree with this post, saying Help Wanted Nights is the best 2007 album. Too bad most lists couldn't see it.
