decent stats too

In honor of GA and Mayfield's pissing match, I just thought I would point out that Carlos Quentin is having some decent numbers so far for the Sox.

current stats .302 BA, 12 HR, 38 RBI, .417 OBP, .604 SLG

Not too bad for a guy who is making $400K. Meanwhile, the Astros are paying $14.5 million for Berkman's numbers and the Cubs are paying $14 million for Soriano's.

Here's a comparison of what that money got the respective team in the last 7 days:

Cubs with Soriano: .400 BA, 5 HR, 11 RBI, .406 OBP, .903 SLG

Astros with Berkman: .370 BA, 3 HR, 6 RBI, .452 OBP, .704 SLG

Sox with Quentin: .400 BA, 3 HR, 9 RBI, .519 OBP, .850 SLG

Also, Quentin posted those numbers with 10 less at bats than Soriano and 7 less than Berkman.

Comments:
I like Carlos a lot. He is by far the best outfielder I have ever seen at the CWS. Generally, the right field bleachers would heckle all the right fielders but with Carlos, you never got a chance. He would hit a homerun in the top of the inning, and then make a diving catch in the bottom of the inning.

And let's see if he cools off now being mention on the blog. Soriano and Berkman have (combined 1-15, 9 k's).

Yep, must be a heavysoul curse. Quentin went 0-4 with 2 strikeouts last night.

I truly believe there is a heavysoul curse. Everytime I have ever posted something about an Astro doing good, bam, they go into a slump. Ryan even put something up about a Royal and they were no hit by the Red Sox the next day. This thing could be more serious than the Madden Curse.

It's like the bizarro jungle karma.

This may be a bit off topic but I was reading an earlier post on spoon bending which got me very interested in the subject. In doing further research on the topic I found that many people report that this actually happens.
