Had enough yet pete?

I just thought I would point out how awesome/frustrating the mid-season race for the american league central has been. I am pretty sure that the twins and sox have been duking it out within 2 games of each other since before the allstar break. Neither team has put together a terribly long string of wins or losses, and any consecutive outcomes have almost always been matched by the other team. There have been tons of extra-inning games, lots of one run wins and a nice spread of blow-outs mixed in as well. It might be easy to say that neither team "wants it" enough, but I honestly don't think that is the case with this one. Both teams are playing some damn scrappy baseball. I just wish the sox were playing better against contending teams.

Hey Pete, here's to scoreboard watching everyday. And may the scrappiest team win.

Napa,

The last month or so has been a total grind. Intense and fun. The Sox are a better team overall, and I keep trying to tell myself that if I would still care about the Twins in the last week of August at the beginning of the season I would have been shocked.

The boys have dropped four in a row though, and are only halfway through this brutal road trip. Thanks again, Republicans. In addition to screwing up the country they now screw up my baseball team.

I think the Twins will probably finish about four or five games back and narrowly miss the playoffs, but you never know.

Oh, and AJ is a douche. You know it, I know it, the American people know it.

I'm enjoying that race, as well. And I saw on Baseball Tonight that it has been something like since May that either team has had a 2 game lead. Pretty crazy.

For Christ sake, if you're going to be mad, be mad at Minneapolis. It's not the Republican's fault that the city of Minneapolis said "please come!"

Besides, the real convention will be happening at the Target Center, not the Metrodome...join Ron Paul's Rally for the Republic, with special guest Jimmy Vaughn!

Fuck that. They could have picked any hick enclave swing state that houses a crappy baseball team (Cleveland or Detroit would have been wheelhouse material), but they had to pick Minnesota.

Ah, there's the elitism!

And what city would turn down the arrival of thousands of rich white guys?

Yes, truly these millionaires represent the common man. Let us listen in as they regale us with tales of how Mitt Romney played stick ball in front of the governor's mansion and John McCain shined shoes to provide for his family while his father was away being an admiral. Maybe we can even enjoy a nice, domestic Budweiser from Cindy McCain's family's beer distributorship while we're at it.

I could keep going here. At least your boy Paul's got some more legitimate blue collar credibility. Outside of Pawlenty, I can't think of a single prominent Republican with any.

Joe Biden's father = Car Salesman
Barack Obama's father = Absentee/Dead

Biography isn't everything, of course, but why buy into the talking points of a bunch of Ivy League graduates who want you to think they get to decide who the "real" Americans are just because they're rich?

I will now get off my soapbox and continue to think about whether or not I like Marion Barber as a fantasy option this year.

Marion Barber is going to be a goldmine for you. Believe it.
